Australian Open, Day 12

One hour twenty-seven minutes. That’s all it took for Roger Federer to humiliate Jo-Wilfried Tsonga tonight. Short rallies, no emotion, just a quick, brutal thrashing. Of course, this translates into really, really really weak pictures. Looking for something a little different, I focused on the spectators as Fed threw his sweaty headband into the crowd (see “Julian and the wristband of destiny”), and made a a little triptych of these two ladies who simultaneously caught the coveted fabric. The woman on the left was reluctant to let it go, then realised that she would probably come off as a bit of a thug if she didn’t let the sweet young girl have it, and let go. She was then rewarded with a hug.

Nothing great, but maybe something a little different from what most everyone else filed tonight, so there you go. And sometimes, that’s a small victory in situations like this.
